WUKAs are suitable for managing very slight incontinence and small bladder leaks. Please note that they are not intended for total incontinence and we strongly advise against using them for this purpose.
To ensure maximum effectiveness, we recommend selecting the appropriate absorbency level based on the volume of your leaks. If your leaks are typically small, we suggest choosing the heavy flow option. For larger leaks, we advise opting for the super heavy flow variant.
A lot of our styles offer a high gusset for those who need that extra protection and are ideal if sleeping with a heavy flow!

We also have Basics Hipster in Medium flow, Heavy flow and even in the Earth Day variation! These all have absorbent gussets to the back waistband too
We have a range of products that has full coverage that provide full coverage from the front to the back until the wristband.
When it comes to using WUKA, it's best to test what works for you. However, some customers have reported wearing it for 8 hours consistently. To give you an idea of absorbency levels, here's some information on our different flow options:
-
Light flow: Can be worn for up to 8 hours on light days and holds at least 7ml of period flow (equivalent to 1 tampon).
-
Medium flow: Can be worn for up to 8 hours on medium flow days and holds at least 15ml of period flow (equivalent to 2-3 tampons).
-
Heavy flow: Can be worn for 4-6 hours on heavy days and 8 hours on light days, can also be used all night. Holds up to 20ml of period flow (equivalent to 4 tampons). It's recommended to carry a spare pair of underwear on heavy flow days.
-
Super Heavy: Can be worn for up to 10 hours and can be used all night without needing a change. Holds up to 60ml of period flow (equivalent to 12 tampons) and features a full gusset on the High waist and Midi brief styles.
Remember, the heavier your flow, the more frequently you will need to change pants.
We have a wide range of items that are popular for our younger users, this ranges from our Basics Hipster to our Ultimate Bikini and Boxers.
Layers. Our many layers contribute to making sure you get a long lasting feeling of dryness and security, not having to worry about leakage, smell or infection.
Every pair includes a super absorbent gusset which consists of many layers, the middle layers absorb and lock in the blood whilst working with the outer layer to ensure you stay dry through your day to day activities!
Period pants look and feel like your regular underwear but they are leak-proof, which means you don't have to wear a pad, a tampon or menstrual cup when you wear them during your period.
When it comes to washing your WUKAs we have some recommendations to ensure that their lives, absorption and colour stay in tact!
HANDWASH: After use, rinse with cold water until the water runs clear. This is best done immediately after removing
MACHINE WASH: Pop your WUKA with similar, dark coloured garments and wash at 30-40ºc, inside out. Don't use fabric conditioner. Seamless and Swim Bikini styles wash cold.
LINE DRY: Air dry your WUKA Period Pants outside on the line or indoors on an airer. Don't tumble dry it.
For the Heavy Flow and the Super Heavy Flow, we advise washing inside out and giving them an extra spin. As well as this, we recommend sticking on a warm radiator to ensure complete dryness!
We always advise washing pants as cold as possible! This will prolong the lifespan of your pants and also keep the absorbency as high as possible! Refrain from drying in a dryer or on a radiator (if possible) and always dry inside out!
We would not suggest leaving your WUKA pants to soak for a prolonged time, this can cause the material and bonding to wear and damage quicker.
To keep your period pants fresh and free from odors, we recommend washing them after each use and soaking them in a solution of diluted white vinegar and water for 20 minutes. This can help to combat any existing odors. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to the wash load for added freshness.
It's important to change and wash your period pants regularly to prevent any unwanted smells. Avoid leaving them soaking for too long, as this can lead to mildew and musty smells.
We assure you that as much as it is irritating, it is completely normal to experience staining in the underwear. As you are probably aware, WUKA strives for sustainability and for that reason we do not use any additional chemicals in our products, meaning we do not use any silver treatment or anti-stain treatment. This can leave the pants susceptible to staining.
What we suggest to prevent this is to do a cold rinse before sicking the pants in the wash, this will help with minimising staining but may not get rid of it completely.
If you face this issue in your WUKAs, you can dye them. This is not needed, but one of our team members does this to keep hers looking aesthetically pleasing!
-
You can get a very cheap dye from your local department store (available for under £3),
-
Soak your pants for about 6 mins
-
Boom! They come out looking brand new!
This is very effective as it saves from buying new pants when the quality and effectiveness of the pants have not been compromised and will last for many usages over and over!
Don't panic! If you have accidentally washed your WUKA pants with fabric softener, or even stuck them in the dryer by mistake, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Doing this once should not impact the absorbency of the pants, just be extra careful in the future to avoid doing it again
